Water purification systems (Deionization systems)
KMT International, Inc provides design and proposes innovative water purification systems manufactured in US supplying water to cooling water systems, boiler systems and semiconductor application. Industrial water treatment for cooling water systems, water treatment boiler and semiconductor applications requires advanced water technologies.
Water purification systems (Deionization systems) main components:
- Chlorination feed system
- Multi-media filters
- Activated Carbon Filters
- Softeners
- Chemical feed system and Antiscalant feed system
- Reverse Osmosis System
- Electro Deionization System
Chlorination feed system injects liquid chlorine directly into your water supply to resolve iron and sulfur bacteria contamination problems. The system usually includes the chemical feed pump and solution storage tank. The pump is connected to the included in-line static mixer for improved mixing of the chlorine solution into your water. Either standard household bleach or the more concentrated commercially available liquid chlorine solution can be used as your chemical feed.
Multi-media filters are design for the removal of turbidity in the water caused by sand, silt, ferric iron and oxidized manganese or sulfur. Multimedia filters are highly efficient at removing suspended solids from water. As water flows downward through the bed, it encounters layers of filtration media with decreasing porosity. Successively smaller particles are then trapped in each layer, thus providing true depth filtration. Multimedia filters are also sometimes referred to as dual media, anthracite, granular media, multi-layer or pressure filters. Multimedia filters operation is fully automatic and requires no separate source of backwash water. The will backwash when a present differential pressure drop is sensed across the filter inlet to outlet.
Activated Carbon Filters for the purpose of removing free chlorine (to protect downstream equipment) as well as for absorption of TOC from the water. Activated carbon filters operation is fully automatic and requires no separate source of backwash water. The will backwash when a present differential pressure drop is sensed across the filter inlet to outlet.
Softeners for removing hardness as well as any dissolved heavy metals which may cause jouling of the RO membranes. Their simple designs maximize the efficiency and repeatability of the unit during service and regeneration modes in order to provide a truly reliable water treatment unit. The softener consists of a single vessel that contains a deep bed of high quality ion exchange resin and a graded quartz support bed. The ion exchange resin removes calcium and magnesium (hardness) from the feedwater and is regenerated with a concentrated brine solution.
Chemical feed system Chemical feed system provides reduction of dissolved oxygen content in water. Chemicals injected upstream of the RO unit. Required to neutralize the chlorine level in the feed water Antiscalant feed system protect RO membranes from deposition of particles that will causing it to plug. Without some means of scale inhibition, reverse osmosis (RO) membranes and flow passages within membrane elements will scale due to precipitation of sparingly soluble gas, such as calcium carbonate, calcium sulfate, barium sulfate and strontium sulfate. Most natural waters contain relatively high concentrations of calcium, sulfate and bicarbonate ions.
Reverse Osmosis System - The Reverse Osmosis Process is the removal of up to 99.9% of undesirable water contaminants by forcing untreated water through a semi-permeable membrane. Pressure forces the water to flow in the reverse direction to the direction of flow in natural osmosis. Unlike general purpose water filters, once the reverse osmosis system forces the water through, it separates the contaminated water from the filtered water. The reverse osmosis filters are building with a drain mechanism that allows the system to drain contaminated water and keep the filtered water in a storage tank. This mechanism prevents contaminants like bacteria and inorganic chemical from being attached to the filters. The reverse osmosis flushes them out.
Electro-Deionization (EDI) systems provide an attractive alternative to mixed-bed or twin-bed ion exchange system. Electro-Deionization (EDI) system combined with double pass RO system as pre-treatment, produces 16-18 mega-ohm permeates water without regeneration chemicals."Ultra-EDI" systems are ideal systems for Electronics, Semi-conductor and pharmaceutical industries where highly-purity water is required. Electro-Deionization (EDI) works using ion exchange resin to remove both cations and anions from water to produce ultrapure water. Electric current is used to remove contaminant ions and create ions to regenerate the resins in Electro-Deionization (EDI) systems.
